1. Effie Yeaw Nature Center

Located inside Ancil Hoffman Park off Tarshes Drive in Carmichael, the Effie Yeaw Nature Center offers 77 acres filled with educational stations for adults and kids, small animals, exhibits, and more. The site also has three self-guided trails that offer views of wildlife, including turkeys and deer.

The center aims to promote environmental issues and raise our awareness. In addition to animals, the preserve is landscaped with beautiful native plants, flowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

There are several animal exhibits within the center to look at, including turtles and birds. In addition, there is an educational room where children can learn about hunting techniques and how native Americans lived before European settlers came to the area.

2. Golf Course

The park is a 396-acre oasis among ancient oaks and along the American River. With trails allowing access to more than 100 bird species, there’s plenty to see in this pristine location.

There’s also a golf course in the park, as well as softball fields and barbecue pits. And the Effie Yeaw Nature Center is nearby, offering hundreds of programs about the environment and nature. 5. Trails
